The first two were heavily distressed. Then glaze stained twice... The first layer was done on everything but the moulding on the doors. Wax finished. I don't know if there are any other layers on there as the finish was hired out I just did the distressing.

Thanks.

Just out of curiosity, what wood did you use on the pergola? I built one recently with ipe.

They were done in reclaimed oak from a barn that was torn down in the South West area of United States

Just to clarify this is about a years work on a couple different jobsites. The two Arbor's alone took me and two other guys two months to complete. All cabinets pictured I did alone minus the finishes. Almost everything pictured I and one other guy distressed or will be distressing. All beams are mortise and tenoned. The herringbone floor is red oak and the X floor is QSWO. Both of the floors were hired distressing. The large gates and the outside pavers were flown in from Italy. I included a picture of the pool simply because I helped with all the concrete outside.

Looks great jamie. What part of the country are you in?

Wichita, KS and ya you would think it was profitable but it was all work I did working for someone else.... I just recently went out on my own... If I can keep motivated then I don't think it will be to hard to get a good business going especially since I have spent the last four years slowly buying all my tools so that I have no start up cost. oh and THX for looking

Hi Jamie,

There is one really bad thing about your photos...You make me want to build a new house. I have remodeled two bathrooms in our house and I like them very much. However, they are amature compared to your work.

Enjoy

Jim

Beautiful work, Jamie. With work like this you will do well on your own, just take time to learn the business end of woodwoking.

jamie, LOVE the beaded inset. question for you: are the beads nailed on or routed into the face frame stock?

Jamie Baalmann

They were nailed on. You can't see from the picture but the whole kitchen has them in every opening. Didn't post it since I didn't do the kitchen other then the island and the crown and the distressing... It really adds a nice touch when you are doing an older world style. It's a nice place for glaze to collect.

Great work, I like the variety of finishes and use of colors. Really nice cabinets.
