Y'all aren't going to believe how great these pens ended up (no credit to me)!
As I'd posted before, I made up two osage orange havana pens. The gentleman (Steve Harrison) didn't want them finished because he wanted to carve them.
Here's my part done....

And HERE is the WOW! part.....

Excellent craftsmanship But I don't like them they look huge & would be to awkward to write with. Just my $02 worth.

I'll find out how they fit to the hand soon. He's sending me the slimmest one. Though I think anything done up like this would be considered a 'shelf piece' more than a day to day pen.
Either way, I'm going to put mine up as 'art' ;)

I have to agree with Chuck - nice carving and workmanship, but they sure aren't "user" pens, are they?

I'll see your five "wow"s and the "holy cow" and raise you five "man alive"s and a "holy mackerel". :p
Superb carving work on Steve's part. (You did good too, Bonnie, but your work was just the beginning. ;) ) Very imaginative and aesthetic.
To those commenting on the size, I can only ask: Do you really think these were made with the intention to be writing instruments? That's like dissing a bowl because the see-through inclusion on the side would leak soup. There's art and there's craft. This is art.
