It's my first lathe obviously. We'll see if I get addicted to turning now. Now I just need a set of turning tools and the tormek jigs to match.

Can anyone suggest some good turning tools with a good price/performance ratio?

It is up to $155 now 09/02/07 @ 8:45pm. it is a steal at that price.
It is a nice little lathe and you will enjoy it alot.
I have this set and have found it to be a very nice start for turning. there are other things along the way you may need but this will get you started.

Just make sure you clean off the laquer they coat the tools with with mineral spirits or denatured alcohol before turning.

Amazon pricing is quite annoying--it was $122 early afternoon with free shipping. Tonight it is effectively $75 more. Oh well. I am saving my money for the Rikon.

They had a delta boss on sale for $145 delivered earlier today. It's over $200 again now. I'm not sure what they're up to. But if you see deals, you have to be ready to buy them that instant. I've missed out before by waiting even an hour.
