My partner just got a box full of old tools that belonged to his great uncle. A box of Stanley 45 cutters, but no plane found yet. Cutters are in bad shape, as they were in Galveston, TX, for decades. The other item is beyond me. Does anyone know what it might be?

The one with the elaborate handle could ge a shingler or slaters tool, I noticed the hole near the cutting edge that might have been used as a nailing gauge.

The cutters are short 4 cutters for a series 1 45 as there were 19 at first.

Harry,

Thanks for the info. The cutters were kind of easy, since there was a nice big hint on the box. We are curious to see if we can date them to see how old they truly are. My guess is pre-1940. Too bad they weren't taken better care of. I don't know if we can make them work again or not. The other tool is the one like I'd never seen. I'll pass this along. Maybe he can find out if his uncle did that kind of work.

Thanks Again,

Greg
