Well, it's about time to change the belt on my Jet 1442, anybody have any hints, tricks, or be careful info ? I got the belt at a parts store, hoping it is the right one. The manual just gives a Jet part # Does 25 (outside) 3/8's v belt sound right ? Thanks

Scott, be careful to use a wood dowel to knock the spindle out of the headstock. also be sure that everything is unscrewed on the outside and unclipped on the inside. It gets a bit tricky on reassembly with the shaft key so check your alignment good. Holler if you hit a snag. Also your old belt will probably be notched but the new one is probably a straight V-Belt right? That is OK it won't hurt a thing.:)

Thanks Chris. I knew you had done this before and was hoping you would reply and you came through ! The manual seems to look like it's no problem, unfortunately, those always seem to be the things I have the toughest time with.:o Thanks
