I have three wood lids to engrave with this image. All three are maple (i think) and stained either red, blue or green.

Do you think it would look better engraved as is or should I invert it?

I've got ver.12 - can't open it.

If you decide to invert I would use the boundary tool to outline the drawing. Otherwise I think the branch and the cap of the acorn will be lost.

Why not run it both ways on some scrap then decide.

Mike, I guess it was more of a question concerning the color. Hopefully someone can tell me if it would look downright ugly one way or another.

These are lids from Longaberger baskets, and these particular baskets are $150 each.

Oh my,

I have several of these baskets with lids. It never crossed my mind to ever, ever, ever, engrave one of these holy of all lids.

Your wife letting you do that?

LOL, no. She has several herself and they're all off limits.

These are for the sales manager to give to her top sales consultants. I'm also engraving text on strips of 1x3 inch flexibrass that she'll weave into the basket.
