Last winter, prior to us getting the laser, I saw some refridgerator magnets at a resort. I recall telling the person I was with that they were done on a laser and that we had one on order.

From memory only, I seem to recall them being about 1/4" thick, maybe 2" long and 1 1/2" tall. The had a thin magnet on the back. All of the corners were rounded, so that rules out getting some wood and doing it myself. No desire to round all those corners on a little bitty rectangle that ends up costs only a buck or two. I'm guessing it was Alder but it could have been maple with some finish on it. Super simple job. From the look of them, they seemed like they were a bought item and then lasered.

Since I saw them, I have kept my eyes open and have yet to see anything like it. Anyone seen any sources for things like that?

I'm not sure I understand your problem. The laser will cut the rounded corners. Unless you mean that the corners were also beveled?

I did a bunch of those for a Boy Scout camp to sell at their store.
I used birch ply, available at the borgs, and just glued on scraps of magnetic material that I have around here left over from magnetic signs.

Yes, the corners were rounded as well as the edges. It looked very soft and smooth by having all the edges rounded. There's a rectangular keychain that looks almost just like it, but it's got an indention on one end with a hole and a screw eye installed. I got them from the old absupply place.

These aren't exactly what you're looking for, but could be a suitable subsistute if worse comes to worst.

Now I see. I haven't seen those available without the key chain either. I'm sure that someone is selling them, probably imported.

Try these people, they don't show it but may have it:

Ed, I must be missing them there. I see keychains, but no magnets.

Craig and Joe, thanks for the links, some of them I hadn't seen. Even if they don't have the magnets, I see some other things already and I just started looking.
