I had an explosion on this one, so to make the best of a bad situation I torched it and finished it the way it was. Measures about 6 wide and 4 1/2 tall. Antique oil buffed finish.

It looks llike it worked to me, Mike! Would you mind posting a photo of your photo setup? I absolutely love the way your photos show the depth of finish and the gradual graying of the background.

It LOOKS GREAT Mike. I might just have let us think that you "meant to do that" :cool: (think PeeWee Herman) and taken the accolades.
It's a nice resolution, no matter what you "personal process" is.
Seriously, when it's time to sell, just talk about the finished piece, not the fact that it's a "mistake" People might see it as a repair.

I personally bought a lathe and started turning to get out of doing yard work.;)
