I'm outside building a shed from some New Yankee plans. Was hoping it would be cooler today -- but the heat index is supposed to make it "feel" close to 100-degrees in Boston.

UGH!!

Frank,
You can have your nice 80 degree temp in Walnut Creek. I will keep my 75 degree Mid Michigan temp with a little humidity over commuting on Highway 24 to San Francisco from Antioch like I did five days a week for 27 years.

to tell you the truth, david, i can't wait for retirement... in another 26 years!!! i'd love to actually buy a house that's WORTH $400,000 instead of spending all my vacation time fixing up a townhome. the reverse commute's not too bad from walnut creek to vallejo: 30 minutes.

Triangle Forecast.....

Tonight....Fair. Lows in the middle to upper 70's. Winds light southeasterly less than 5 mph. No rain expected.

Sunday.....Partly cloudy with a 40 percent coverage of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the lower to middle 90's. Heat index near 103. Winds southeasterly 3-12 mph.

And it's cooled down since last week.

I've been inside for 30 minutes now, and my shirt is still soaking wet. Been in the shop all day working on laminating some pieces of the multifunction benches. Last 4 pieces to be exact. Curing now, need to trim them then put a coat of clear poly on the backs and 2 coats on the edges. Probably should pull the fence sections off and do the same to them.
High today to be 98. No Idea what the humidity is. Jim.

I was working in the shop on building 2 poker tables. No A/C in the shop, so my shirt was soaked in no time flat. I couldn't believe how much sweat I kept having to wipe off the table saw top.

Yeah, it's hot here too. In fact, I'm sweating like a common house pet in Michael Vicks house. :D

I was just in Boston last week. Now I'm back in Oregon, where it cooled off to 75 degrees and below 50% RH this week. Ahhhhhhhhhh.

I spent the day pressure washing my porch, tuning up my old truck, and cleaning up the dead stalks off the daylilys. It was nice, too nice to be in the shop making dust.

Jason,

I hope it's a consolation now that the weather is moderating a bit: Saturday was a record-breaker in Boston. You weren't imagining it.

It was down in the 50's overnight the past couple of nights. Had a friend that was in the Upper Peninsula Saturday, he said that the temp was 59 most of the day. Hopefully most of the hot and humid spells are over with for the rest of the year.

Definitely has cooled down here. I'm wearing my usual work attire-shorts and a t-shirt but had to put on a sweatshirt this morning.

High of 95 here today which is just about right for me. LOML says I like it warmer because I'm a skinny runt and have no natural insulation. Is that love?
