I bought the latest generation of Excalibur overarm guard at the WW show in Vegas. Received it and installed it today. Had to order a blast gate, so its not operational yet. It does accept a 4" hose though. What I really like about this guard is that it swivels out of the way in seconds and it covers both the blade and my splitter.

The locking pin cams over to hold the tube from swiveling.

Cam it over and turn the tube out of the way, in seconds.

The guard encloses my Beissemeyer snap-in splitter and the blade completely, but they made the back from a flexible plastic to work with back-mounted splitters.

Rides right up over my sliding table fence.

Beauty. That will bring a new level of satisfaction to your shop time.

Very nice! Congratulations.

I enjoyed having the older generation of Excalibur guard on my previous saw. This new version really is a great update, especially with the swivel feature.

The improvements really seem to be well thought out. I may want to consider one in the future.

Nice. I see another thread today about the "shark guard", does anyone have enough experience to make an informed comparison between the two?

Noticed you have a Jet cabinet saw. Is it a left or right tilt? I have a left tilt and often wandered if a snap in splitter would work in a Jet. Guess it does. Are the splitter standard or are there different models? If so what model do you have? Did you do any mods for it to fit?

Mine's a left tilt. Go to the Beissemeyer site and look up the part number for your saw. It doesn't require any mods to the saw (other than removing your old guard parts), but it took me a half hour to dial it in to my blades. It's one of the best accessories I've bought for my saw. Takes seconds to take out or install, so I use every time I need it.

I installed one on my Delta Unisaw about 3 months ago. It is fabulous. Great updraft (into a Dust Gorilla) and having the ability to swing it out of the way easily means that you tend to also swing it back right away. Keeps the shop clean and is also a real safety feature. Works will with my splitter as well (by cutting a slit in the back clear plastic insert of the overarm.

Hope you enjoy using yours.
