Pick the wood up from a sawmill tour I was on a while back. One of those sections where the limb was sawn off a while, and then healed over. Been finished for a while just haven't had a chance to take pictures. These are hte first pictures in the photo tent with the new camera. I think I need more light.

9" diameter x 4" high

thanks for looking
Bob

Wonderful! This can be best described as "organic turned-wood art"! Thanks for sharing. Godspeed.

Well done holding all that together...how did you do that?

Jeff, luck and it's thicker than I would normally turn. You really have to be careful with the tool near those openings as well, making sure to present it to the wood correctly and all.

Thanks

The pictures look good to me, and the bowl looks Mahvelous, simply Mahvelous.
Seriously, it looks like a miracle that it didn't blow up on you. I don't know if I would even have tried it, and I have been called crazy from time to time:cool:

Yup! it does my heart good to see more people using Oak. Bob, you've done yourself proud on this one. I like the way you chose to present this limb stub. Nice Job my friend!:) To bad we can't get those old guys (Wonder Who)up there in Maine to realize Oak's beauty and usefullness.:D
