Pussy Willow turning

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I had come across some pw from a friend. The out of state company is gone, the grass got mowed, the club meeting is over and I copped a 500 watt QH for the photo booth. The piece that I turned is small (was going to have a wing, but it flew away). I turned it wet to finish dimensions (wood had been cut for a couple of weeks) very nice turning properties and it didn't crack or split or warp appreciably. I would say if you have a chance to get any to jump on it. The piece is 1 1/2 x 4 1/2 with malachite inlay.

I thought I'd heard that willow was stringy. For some reason it makes me think "hat", I don't know why. Looks good.
