It's just something I'm curious about.

How many straight router bits do you have? And what are they? Spirals as well as conventional straights.

How about pattern and flush-trim bits? What do you have in that category?

And finally, mortising bits (as in hinge mortising) and dado cleanout bits?

Thanks,

Bill

Counting those in my Leigh jig set from a "previously good vendor" with white bit coatings :), I have about 9 straight cutters of various sizes and lengths, one of which is a spiral.

And finally, mortising bits (as in hinge mortising) and dado cleanout bits?Nothing special there...I use the above cutters...unless you count the three-piece "plywood dado" set I have from Infinity.

I would say I have 4 sharp ones and 400 beyond repair:o Actually I probably have 50+ that are toast. My employees seem to think you can sharpen nails with them:mad:

Currently 8 or so for me. I find the $5 bit sales at Woodcraft a great way to stock up on bits you don't feel bad about ditching once they've had it.

I have several straight bits (mostly Whiteside and CMT):

1 1/8 inch straight
2 1/4 inch straights (one with 1/4 shank and one 1/2 inch shank -- don't know why I bought this one, but it seemed like a good idea at the time although it limits depth of cut).
1 3/4 inch
2 1/2 inch -- different depths
2 3/8 inch straight (1/4 inch and 1/2 inch shank)
3 plywood straights
1 1/4 flush trim
1 1/2 inch 1 1/2 inch length flush
1 3/4 inch template
1 3/8 inch spiral

I am missing a few I am sure....

Thanks,

Scot

Now I have 20, a little of everything including a few cheap ones that now I know better I am scared to use. These will be tossed in the cleanup this week.
