Finishing Bookshelves

This is likely a silly question but . .
I have installed cabs in my shop with 1/4" holes for shelf clips. I plan to spray them with shellac. Any recommendations on what to do with the numerous holes so they remain open after I spray?

I sprayed 3 coats of WB poly on my bathroom cabinets and had no problems getting the shelf pins in.

If you are filling the holes, you are putting on WAY too much finish :D

Steve, the layer of finish you are producing is "pretty thin" in the scope of things. As Matt indicated, you'll not really have a problem. Now, thick paint is a different situation... ;)
