View Full Version : Porter Cable 690 router "Made in Mexico??"

Not sure how I feel about this, though I guess it saddens me a little...

Saw a PC690 router in Sears the other day and on the label it says "Made in Mexico." All the others I've seen say "Jackson, Tennessee."

Anybody notice any differences in performance with El Routero? :D

It's getting harder and harder to buy things made in the USA. I recently recommended that router to a friend so I'm curious to see if it's as good as my older one.

Don't you just love this "global economy"? I heard somewhere that Canada, U.S. and Mexico will be one happy country sometime in the not too distant future.

It's a global economy. I remember when made in Japan was considered inferior. It's the other way now. Milwaukee has been using switches made in Mexico for years. Someday you'll be looking for stuff made in Mexico for the quality and some other up and coming country will be considered low quality.
