Ok so there is no such thing as a stupid question, but there are allot of inquisitive idiots and I think I am in that class

What is the easiest way to measure and flatten a table saw fence. (I have a Jet exacta saw) Dial indicator? Then tape as shims?

How flat is flat enough?

Thanks Dave

Two very separate questions,

To measure flatness a straight edge and feeler gauges will find the low spots (and thus the high spots)

To flatten, er uh Blanchard grinder. To level a table you can shim but it is doubtful that you would have bolts in the correct to places to pull a table flat (assuming aluminum, cast iron would be bad to stress). You could do it with scrapers and prussian blue but that is an acquired skill.
