A couple of log furniture questions

I'd like to try my hand at a couple of log furniture projects and am
wondering where most of you buy your logs, I'm in the upper midwest and would like to find an oultet for some cedar logs to do a couple of tables and a stair rail. Anyone have a good wholesaler to recemmond? Also where is a good outlet for tenon cutters at a decent price?

I'd suggest cultivating a relationship with a tree service. I've been able to tell him what I was looking for, and when he was cutting down the kind of wood I wanted, he would save what I wanted.
