i'm looking to buy either a craftsman 22124 or 22114. i've read a lot about both on this and other forums but can't quite decide. as far as i can tell the only differences are the bases and the fences. i'm one of the lucky ones who got in on the lowes biesemeyer fence deals so the fence is not an issue and i don't know if the base matters enough to consider spending an extra 2-3 hundred on it. if anyone has used both and can offer any guidance, i'd appreciate it.

thanks,
rb

Rocky....which ever you buy...have it shipped to zip code 83501....PM me for the rest of the address...  :D

Sorry I couldn't resist.:o

Good luck with the table saw which ever you buy. I've been eye-balling them but the LOML bought me a new contractor's saw 2 years ago and it's not getting worn out yet.

The 22124 has a fold up outfeed table, and a laminate extension table. It also has 12" wings...not sure how wide those on the 22114 are.

The 22124 should be on sale Sunday night for ~ $800. The 22114 will be down near $612.

As noted 22114 will be on sale with CC and extra 10% for around $600. If you already have a Biesemeyer then I would go this way. I bought one for my Dad for Christmas and the only complaint I had about it when comparing to my 22124 was the fence. I personally didnt like the outfeed table on the 22124 and it is now installed on my Dads 22114. The laminate extension table ????? I think most folks chunk then and build one that is actually FLAT! LOL!

I am pretty sure the CI wings were the same size.

Sears has a 10% off as part of their <A href="http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/dpp.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&splash=true&cat=Sears+VIP&vertical=Splash&ihtoken=1"" target=_blank>Family & Friends Event on Sunday, 19 August between 6pm and 9pm. Typically the discount is available online at the same time too.

I believe the 19th is also a Craftsman Club day.

Definitely the 22124. I personally don't like the fence on the 22114 to the point that I would replace or buy a different saw. My .02

Agreed, but OP states he has a brand new in the box Bieseyemer he picked up at Lowes for $80 to put on it.

I would sell the NIB Bies and then buy a 22124 - use the lowes Bies $$ to offset the new saw price.

is there a reason you prefer the 22124, mike? i had thought about selling the bessie and putting the money towards the more expensive saw but i was looking for a concrete reason to do so.

Prices quoted in this thread don't come around too often. Is there a Craftsman Club flyer out, or just a sale? I didn't get my secret club decoder ring in the mail again. They are bad about that.

Regarding which saw to buy, isn't the 22124 significantly bigger and heavier than the 22114? In any case, it's a steal at $800 IMO. I have no desire to upgrade from it after a years use.

Sorry Jeffrey and Rocky  . Need more coffee before responding to threads. Does the Lowes Bies state the saw it is cut for? The idea of selling the NIB Bies after the $80 deal has gone away to offset the price OF THE 22124 is a good one.
