Hello All,

Im new to the forum and in need of direction. I just completed a couple classes at the PFW under Alan and Mario. I would love to attend more but I need a job to pay for it. My goal was to get employment as an apprentice/helper at a cabinet makers shop, or really anything wood, to gain experience, learn as much as I could and gather income to do more for myself. My search is still ongoing. I have been working on my own projects around the house for years. However I want to achieve more. I do have a basic knowledge on how to use most tools around a shop but it seems wook expierence is key, I want that.

If anyone has any kind of advise for me, I thank you greatly in advance!

Thanks for your time,
dj

Jeff Lohr in Schwenksville has an apprenticeship program. Doesn't look like he has any openings now but it couldn't hurt to contact him.

BTW, I've taken courses from both Jeff and Alan. Both great instructors.

This isn't an apprenticeship, but meeting with the local woodworkers guild has been very educational for me. Check out the Montgomery county woodworkers guild. We have had a few meetings at Alan's shop and one at Jeff Lohr's shop.
