Just picked up a couple-a fences. From Lowe's. $400 each. Biesemeyer. Oh wait...They were marked down to $200.

Woo Hoo!!

Oh...wait. That's just what the department manager said. He wouldn't budge on it. The STORE manager had something different to say though.

$80 a piece.

KA-CHOW!!!!!

Not sure if you can see this one (camera phone pic), but if you could it, you would see that it says 2 @ $80

I had to fight for the one's I got tonight! I wasn't giving up though (especially since one of their sister stores within 40 miles of them confirmed that they had 3 of them for $80 each!)

The Dept. manager tried to tell me that it was "his choice" whether or not they would go lower. I just told him "Thank you sir! That's all I needed to know". Then I spoke with the store manager.

None of them were super nice. The store manager acted like I was bugging him (even though I offered to wait if he had business he needed to attend to). When I finally asked him he acted like it was a no-brainer (that they would match the other store's price). I told him I had a little trouble with the dept. manager and that he apparently didn't see it the same way. Store manager just kind of rolled his eyes (at the DM's attitude).

Sheesh, I kind of felt bad as I was leaving. As if I was stealing those 2 Biesemeyer fences or something...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/kgartin/evilsmile.gif

Don’t take it too personal. I work in retail and see it a whole other way. It just may be money is tight for that manager this month and a huge markdown kills him right now. The best way to explain it would be It’s Christmas at you house and you have a ton of presents to buy for the kids etc..and the transmission drops out of your car. Or your kid just walked in and asked you for $3000 to take a school trip next summer over seas.
The department manager has that same kind feeling.

That is how I felt when I got the Delta 1.5HP DC form them for $100! :D

Jeesh - at this cost you could almost buy one and use it as your sacrificial fence, without making a jig.

I got mine + one extra. I can't help myself, I may put the extra on my dad's old Craftsman saw. It already has the other upgrades to motor, pully, and belt. Even if I don't keep it, it will be worth a lot more than $80 extra with the new fence.

PS: Lowes...Upland CA. is out of them.
