Silly question, but instead of ordering 1 at $.98 online and paying $9.99 to ship (which makes it a $10.97 screw), so

Anyone here at the Creek know the machine screw size holding the face plate from a router table (it uses 3) to a Porter-Cable model 693 (or any model if they are the same)? 1 of 3 refuses to budge and has mostly stripped. I acutally may look at square drive machine screws to replace them with.

I figured it would be easier to stop at Ace Hardware on the way home from work than pay $11 and waiting a week or two.

Thanks for any and all help,
Dave

Yes it helps. I can get 2 of the 3 out.....I just keep forgetting to put one in my pocket  on the way to work.

There is a web site that lists the parts, but not the technical specs of it.

Thanks for your response. I was thinking and hoping a Creeker might have spec'd it out.

I think it is a #10. When I mounted my 690 I needed some longer screws, I had them in the shop so I think it would be the #10 size.

Plate to casting: 10-24 x 1/2", FHMS.

Dave

My porter cable is not the same model as yours. Mine is using 4 @ 5/16" x 15 screws - much bigger than the others who have replied.

As already stated, 690 uses 10-24 threads to mount plate to casting.

Same problem. I borrowed a screw driver from the tool section and unscrewed one from the demo PC router. After confirming size I returned everything to its proper place.

Easier way - listen to Pat Warner.

I asked this question a few months ago and Pat came through for me too. Picked up a pack at HD for less than a buck.
