Well, I finished repainting the emmert and did a little work on the top to get closer to installing the aprons.

I dug out the pieces that I planned on using for the aprons this morning and I think I have a plan. Remaining items on the to-do list, Make/install the aprons; layout/remove material for emmert install; make/layout/install twinscrew; install emmert; fasten top to base; drill dog holes; oil/wax top; Drink a cold beer.

Wow. That sure came out nice. I think I last noticed pics when it was just the base framing. How thick is the top and is that maple?

Doug, the top finished up at 3 3/8 thick and is a combination of hard/soft maple. I am getting close enough to finishing it that it is driving me crazy. You should have seen the mess that I had when I built the router sled and flattened it. I had chips EVERYWHERE!!!:D

How I long for the days when I'll once again have WOOD chips everywhere. Oops - maybe when the DC finally gets done, that's going to change some too. Oh well, at least it's going to smell nicer than PVC.

Is that a Steel City Bandsaw(?) I see in the reflection of the garage door's window?........

I'm excited for you. An Emmert and a thick slab of maple. It just reeks of future greatness!

The bench is looking great!! It won't be long now before it's done and you can start using it.

Thanks for the complements, its only taken about 5 months longer than I originally estimated.:eek: but with a little luck, by labor day.... maybe...

Yup thats a SteelCity 18in... got it last winter and LOVE it... now that I know how to adjust it and all the little things that were omitted from the owners manual.
