My first big project

Hi All

I just wanted to show you some pics of my first big project (finished end of may 2007).
My wifes friend asked me to build a TV centre and this is what it turned out like, I used QS red oak, spalted maple, and white oak (for the legs) the top and top self are vennered red oak and I use a varathane mission oak stain and minwax poly to finish it.

Very striking project Graham; I really like the contrasting colors you have there. What are the backs of the top cabinets made of? It looks like you did a LOT of work on that and it came out great!

Thanks for the comment, the backs are made of shiplap pine ( you know the stuff that comes in a plastic bag from the home depot) I had some left over from another Home project and decided to use it up on this one.

I did'nt bother signing it, but I have just got a baby daughter (5 days old today :) ) and when I make some stuff for her, I think that I sign a date it for her.
