Sorry if this has been asked in the past, but I couldn't find any reference to it here, so will ask again...sorry...for wooden pen engraving, (I turn 'em, potential client wants to buy bulk and laser 'em himself) should the final finish be applied (wipe on poly or CA glue) before or after they pass under the beam?

Ron, we always engrave them before final finish. I don't know what engraving protocol your friend uses, but we use wax and color fill then wax again, and have found that the wax damages the finish. The final finish also protects the color fill.

I use a little different approach and finish before engraving then color fill.

Hi Ron;
I go along with Mike and finish first, not just with pens but virtually anything I make from wood.
Best regards;
