Hi everyone. I have enjoyed reading this forum for awhile and I have learned alot from you. My son and I have begun to set up a 28x14 shed for our own shop. We are just completing the insulation and sheeting. Our wiring was finished this week. (pictures coming)

We really need a way to rip 4x8 sheets. Could someone please send me the plans for the sawhorses that Frank Pellow posted with pictures? These horses looked great, they have notches in the top rails and can handle large sheet goods.
Thanks
Greg
By the way I need to know how to compress my shop pictures to fit on this forum.

Greg, PM sent, but want to make a public welcome to the Creek. I think you'll find that we're a friendly and helpful bunch.

Here's an easy to make table I use to cut all sorts of sheet materials. It's 3'x7' and made from cheap 2x4s

Welcome Greg. Michael Stanley's rig is a great way to go. The legs can be had cheap at Harbour Freight and others. Or re-use the ones from Aunt Jane's old table that she just won't throw out.

If crouching on the floor isn't a problem. A couple of these can be had at the big box stores for about $3 each. Two have handled just about any sheet cut I've required. They are 24" x 48" x 1 1/2". set your saw to cut about 1/4" through the wood and into the foam.

P.s. make a saw guide (uh-oh, here it comes [inside joke]).

As for resizing your pictures; that is one of the secret dark arts that must be purchased with blood. Actually check the Support Forum here for tips.

Here are the new shop pictures I promised, I just retired in June and my son and I are insulating and sheeting this shed for a shop. We started this in April, but can only work on weekends.

Thank you to Glen and Michael S. for their help with suggestions for cutting large sheets, and also to Nancy for the picture sizing info.

Yeah, I would like to know where in PA too.... I'm wayyyyyy north (hour north of Scranton), but would like to know of other woodworkers in area for possible consolidation on some larger projects (??)

I asked because I'm originally from Wayne County and was just curious... ;)

Greg, welcome to the Creek...lots of good people and help 'round here
for sure. Any questions, just ask away!

Nice looking shop, I can see lots of overhead storage for some long pieces of lumber and other material. Before you get toooo far along on the insulation, might want to consider how and where you will want to install
a central dust collection system, easier now than later for sure!

Just my thoughts here, if we can help...let us know.....Jim
