This is a spalted maple bowl I turned for my cousin's wedding. 12"x5" approximately. Watco oil finish and beal buffed.

Very nice Brodie; the finish and shape are spot on. On the foot, what did you use to engrave or sign the piece?

I used a RazorTip burning kit I got at the AAW Symposium from TreeLineUSA. I used a skew tip to make the initial cuts in the lettering and then followed it up with a ball point style tip.

I'm only starting to experiment with pyrography. The next couple bowls and platters can expect to receive a little heat.

The bowl was a last minute when I broke through the bottom of the goblet with captured rings I was making. So I had to improvise.

Brun Brodie Burn!

If you already have the Razortip power unit look at thier Create-a-tip pen for making your own brands. I love mine and its just hooked up to a Cub woodwriter power unit which is alot less power than the Razortip.

Great looking bowl Brodie. I like the wall thickness in relation to its size and depth. Nice job.
