I've had this slab of Maple burl for a while, finally got around to turning it. Turned a dovetailed groove around the edge of the bottom for hanging. 23" across by 1 1/4" deep, buffed Antique oil finish.

Beatiful piece Travis. How do you have time for work and still find time to produce all these beatiful pieces?

That is some kind of platter. Any chance of a side or back view?

Priorities - unfortunately the paying laser jobs take priority over the fun of the lathe. Wish I could get back to it and finish what I've started.

That's a beauty Travis. You just have stuff like that "sitting around" . I wouldn't be able to go to sleep at night, like a kid on Christmas Eve, if I had something like that sitting in my shop.

Stunning piece Travis. I especially like the rim details - just that little bit of extra you always seem to just nail...

Thanks everyone. I guess it was worth burning up a Dremel sanding the tenon off, since I couldn't vac chuck it with the inclusion. :o
