old wood smoother

Purchased an old wood coffin smoother at an antique auction. While cleaning it up I came upon the logo stamped on the front. It has John Veit Phila. Can anyone give me any info on this plane?

Well, it was made by John Veit in Philadelphia. Sorry, couldn't help myself. Welcome to the forum and someone will be along shortly to help you out. There's a book that tells about wooden plane manufacturers, someone here is bound to have it.
