I've been making birdhouse ornaments for some time now. They sell pretty good, but people always ask why I don't make them lifesize. I guess the main reason was I could make the ornament type production style, and then glue up 10 or so at a time. But with a real bird, you have to clean the house out after it leaves. So the roof can't be glued. I made the roofs with a tenon that fits the body like the lid of a box, and countersunk some brass screws, up and under the roofline, to hold it together. They are gonna be more expensive than an ornament type, but who knows, they might be a hit
