I was sent this link to a sawmill located in Oregon recently. Check out the size of the bandsaw mill that they use!!!! The phoos towards the end of the web page are what you want to see :-)

Just beautiful. Makes me homesick - I grew up in the Pacific Northwest.

Thanks for the link. It is kinda frustrating though because my wife went to Corvalis several times in the mid-90s to train HP employees. I went with her a couple times and this would have been great to know about.

Very interesting. You know Jim Becker will have one those if he can fit in his shop. :D :D

Just kidding Jim.

When I was in Tech School at Keesler AFB, I was friends with Darrel Oakes. His family is co-owners of that mill! He gave me one of their business cards. It was 2-ply douglas fir -- cut with air. Wish I still had it.

Great story Mike. Wish I'd known about that place a few years ago. I worked on a project at a paper mill my company has down near Eugene. Probably drove through Coravallis 50 times. Now I only go to northern Oregon up near Astoria.

Oh well maybe next time.

Terry, I'm pretty sure that is one of those "very carefully" situations. Some blades can make nasty cuts. :D
