Ancient Kauri

Has anyone made anything out of ancient kauri wood? I went to their main web site and the wood looks nice. Seems interesting......

I made a couple of pens turned out very nice. Thats soft wood, to get the best results I stabilized it first, then turn it.

I made a keepsake box and 3 recipe boxes. Very soft wood, works a lot like cedar.

Smells like vinegar when you mill it.

Kinda neat their claim of 40,000 years old, but not distinctive enough for the price.
