saw delivered/ok

hey guys, i posted last week about a grizz 1023slx being delivered to my home. ups brought it to my house at 530 mon. afternoon after i was told between 8am-1pm. no big deal. its here and without any damage at all. the driver helped me get it into my shop and hung around and had a soda while i checked the saw and boxes for damage-none. gave him $20 and told him he'd be back in a week or so with a new jointer for me,a g5086. when he comes next time i know it will be around the same time from what he told me,and he said he'd help again. thanks for your input. i really love this saw,it's great. i assume i'll be just as happy with this grizz g5086 jointer when i get it? or should i go with the spiralhead?any comments appreciated.

I think you mean a G 05 86 there John. I have the G0593 (the same model with a spiral cutterhead, for those of you that aren't familiar with the models). I bought it last December and I'm very glad that I bought it. No knife adjustments, VERY smooth surfaces, quieter than my last, regular knife jointer. The 8" is sure nice to have. Very versatile.

BTW, congrats on the new saw BUT..........around here, if you don't show us any pics then it really didn't happen. We even have a resident picture sherriff and a few deputies. :D

Congrats on the new saw, you won't be sorry with the G0593, and don't forget the pics. :D :D :D

Congrats on the new saw. As regards your new jointer, I'm sure you would like the Spiral Head cutters. They are MUCH quieter, clean cutting, and easier to deal with for blade changes etc, etc, etc.

I can't speak for the Grizzly Spiral cutters... there have been posts in the past regarding the differences between them and the Byrd Shelix Heads that are available on other units. I personally decided with the Byrd units to add to my machines and love them.
