Does anyone own a MiniMax MM16 Bandsaw from 2003? I want to make sure it had a 16" Resaw Capacity back then. I think a read somewhere (Minimax Literature Maybe) that it was only recently outfitted with 16" resaw capacity.

I need all 16". A very lightly used 2003 model is available, but it is no use to me if it can't do 16".
thanks in advance,
Scott

Scott,

I have one that I bought new in '03.
It has 12.5" resaw. I think you'll need a 2005 or newer model.

Phil

I have a MM20 with 20" resaw that I bought two years ago. It is a 2005 model and the resaw capacity had just been increased from 16.5" (???) to 20". The MM16 capacity changed from 12.5" to 16" at this same time. I distinctly remember this as it was during the 2005 national WW show in Vagas and I got a great deal on my saw.

If you have the serial number on it you can call MiniMax and they can give you the exact specs on it. There was also an intermediate model (2004 iirc) that had about 14.5" (I have one).

If the seller has a pic for the BS it might be pretty easy to tell from taking an educated guess at what TPI blade is on the saw then counting the nbr of teeth visible and dividing by that TPI.
