There is information available about most Disston saws, but I'm having trouble finding out about Atkins saws. Is there any information on the web about them? I've googled and generally only find auctions. Does anyone know of a book that has good coverage of Atkins?

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Greg, there is some info in their saw catalogs as well as in the book by Erv Schaffer, Hand-Saw Makers of North America.

Erv's book covers dates and models of manufacture. But there is info to be gleaned from the ads in the book as well.

One such booklet is available here:

And Wiktor's web site has a few more bits of info:

Take care, Mike

Mike,

I had been to both of those sites, but had missed the Saw Sense brochure. It had most of what I was interested in. I'm still looking for anything about their saws from the 50's. I have one but can't quite make out the number. It does cut well, even though it's dull.

Thanks. I'll also have to look into the book.
