I ordered the a Grizzly Model G0490 8" Jointer with Parallelogram Beds last Wednesday. It was delivered to my "shop" (garage) today. The FedEx Freight driver was great. When I asked him if he could put it in the garage, he said it shouldn't be a problem. Now I have to figure out how to get the jointer onto the stand. That may take a while. I have to figure out when I can arrange for some friends to come over. It may have to wait until the 19th when we're planning a swim party. Our weekends between now and then are filled up with dog shows. Meanwhile, it will be in the crate and my wife's car will have to be parked outside.

Pictures to prove it's actually here:

In my shop after I looked it over. Everything looked OK.

Wow, that's a heavy piece of machinery. It's my first jointer and, at my age, most likely my last. I'm real excited and wish I could get it setup sooner.

My PT Cruiser is in the background.

Nice gloat Don.I have the G0593 8" myself. Not a problem one with mine. The bed as you probably already fiqured out,is the worst part.Get 2 fairly strong friends and you can just lift it and set it on the base. After that,it's all downhill.Enjoy.

That looks like a sweet ride you got there. How about a picture. It certainly looks gloat-worthy.

Thanks Matt. Here's a picture. The bumpers are from a '35-'36 Ford Sedan Delivery and yes, they are unaltered. The front end is a custom grille and fascia sold by PTeazer.

Congrats on the new toy. Are you going to do a similar paint scheme on the Grizzly like on the car? :) Now that would be cool.

Eugene, I turned 60 in March, so 50 isn't bad at all.;)

I got the Shop Fox version of the same jointer, baby! Many congrats. Be sure to get the motor adjusted to make to the belt pretty snug, but not too tight. Otherwise, it will go, bang! every time you start the motor.
