Will be working off of Norm Abram's jewelry box plans and on it, it lists the hardware needs and their item numbers from Rockler. Unfortunately, the 95 degree piano hinge that is listed, is not stocked by Rockler anymore. I searched the web via Google search and did find some leaf hinges that are 95 degree that seem like they will work, but they are pricey at nearly $30 per pair. I was thinking of making three or four of these boxes at the same time and that price has me rethinking. Anyway, does anyone know of a source for piano type hinges that open up to 95 degrees that I might be able to use in this project? I would appreciate it.

Lee Valley has piano-style stop hinges that open to between 100-105 degrees (part#'s 00D80.01-.05) that are $2.30 for the largest (200mm X 9mm) for each. Another option maybe if anybody make a longer version for a different application? If so, maybe you could buy one and cut it down for the three seperate boxes.

Fred, Most of us are probably not familiar with the design. Can you show a sketch or photo of the hinge arrangement? I used the Rockler cylinder hinges for the jewelry box I made last year. You can see the hinges from the back http://home.earthlink.net/~us71na/jewel4.jpg

here's what the hinge looks like.

They are pretty easy to use and they stop at 90 degrees.
