I'll be spending a few days in the Berkshires in Lenox and Stockbridge, then heading north to North Adams. All midweek. Anyone have any tips on hunting old tools in this area?

Thanks. Rich

Richard,

I was out that way a couple of years ago and there was an antique store that if you drive into Stockbridge and go left just after the Red Lion Inn, a handful of miles down the road there was a Brew Pub on your left, in the plaza next to the Brew Pub was an antique store with some old tools. Another site to see is Berkshire Products, it has to be the most amazing lumber yard I have ever been to, here is a link http://www.berkproducts.com/. If I can get some more information I will. Enjoy.

My son went to school in Sheffield and I would poke around in second-hand stores when I went to visit him. Prices were sky high, as this was both a playground for folks from NYC, and the heart of antique heaven.

You might want to look at stores in Great Barrington, Lennox, Stockbridge.
Better yet, get a local paper and hit the Tag Sales and buy direct.
