Our SS stove is the hardest thing to clean. For simple spills/grease we use a non-amonia window cleaner with good results. For tough stuff we use a cleanser-like powdered product called "Barkeeper's Friend. We always use a sponge, the plastic scrub pads, though plastic, will scratch.

A very light coating of mineral oil will help keep your SS appliances clean and fingerprint-free. Yes, it really works. Do NOT use anything abrasive to clean this stuff. It WILL scratch. DAMHIKT! For grease cleanup on our range, I use Caldrea Stainless Steel Spray...it's a foamy stuff that cuts grease extremely well and natural cleaning product.

Be sure to avoid amonia, it streaks SS very badly.

We use Sheila Shine...don't know who makes it but the results are pleasant.

We are fans of Simple Green Cleaner for general cleaning...and they have now come out with a new stainless cleaner and polish that works great! And it's very safe.

At USNA we used to clean the stainless steel in our rooms with windex and wadded up newspaper to wipe it off. It cleans off the finger prints and leaves no residue.
