Drawknifes made in Austria

Hi:

Does anyone know of any companies that make drawknifes in Austria? I called my local hardware store to see if they had any drawknifes in stock and they said that they do. They said they are made in Austria and cost $50.00 or $55.00. Was wondering if they are of good quality.

That sounds a bit expensive to me. I have an Austrian drawknife I got from Lee Valley about 10 years ago. It was less than $30. It's a 9 1/2 hand forged - sorry no makers marks on it. It holds it's edge well. -Steve
