I have a 46-715 delta variable speed lathe and was wondering if someone
here has the same lathe and where do you get your belt. I got a gates belt at the auto parts store but i don't think it is the right size. Anyone
here know what size it takes?
Thanks,Byron

Byron, I just used the owners manual and called Delta with the part number. May the be the cheapest route but at least I knew it would fit properly.

You probably already looked but usually their is a numbert printed on the outside of the belt that should tell you what you need to get. If their is any printing on it post it and someone should be able to translate.

Here are the numbers on the old belt. optibelt-vb A716ld/13x686li A27
That is all that is on the belt, maybe the A27 means it is a 27" belt.

Thanks,Byron

Looks like you have an actual V belt, I don't know much about belts and what I do know is about poly-v belts. A quick google search turned up this.

I have a list of belt suppliers at my work PC. So PM if you want more sources and I can send you some on Monday. The regular v belts seem a little easier to find then the poly v belts.
