Gradient fill help.

I have a problem in Corel X3. I have an artistic media group, a sweeping curve. I have filled it with a gradient fill. All looks well, but when I move it or copy it I lose the gradient fill. It seems to be position sensitive on the screen. Move it to the left it is the first color of the gradient. Move it to the right it is the second color. I'm getting frustrated.

I converted it (the fill)to a bitmap. Let me know if that helps.

Talk about perfect. Thanks Mike. It looks fantastic on the screen. If it will print that well tonight then I've got it made. Thanks SO much. I was about to pull my hair out.
