Wow! Those are beauties, Sascha. I love the piercing. I may have to borrow that idea some day.

For some reason I had to go into properties and copy the URL into my browser to see these. Once they were pulled up from the link they were visible in your thread. Strange.

Sascha,

I only saw red x's too so I went to your website and found the pictures. WOW! I really like the way that you pierced to follow the grain of the burl!

Sacsh,
Simply stunning work! I love the mallee burl bowl. Gives me an idea for a burl I have had, but no idea what to do with it. It is so irregular shaped. I felt bad wasting wood just making a bowl. Now I will put wings in the design and see what happens!

By the way I did notice your love of cigars, but no turned humidor yet. Try it They go over great as decor and usefulness. Search here for the one I turned. I am about to turn 3 more in the next couple weeks.

Again simply stunning work, and congrats on the girl too. Nice pics, you can see a lot in those pics in the emotion of yours and her faces. But back to woodworking!!!!

Red X's here too. Can somebody fix it?

LOL...I don't even get the "red exes"! And when I look at the original post in edit mode (which I can do...) there are no links visible so I can't "fix" it.

You can click on his name and see his public profile. Go to his website, wood turnings, then all the way to the bottom. You'll see a pierced rim piece.

that is the strangest thing I have seen so far, I have been using pbase for almost 2 years now as my host, but I have noticed last night that firefow opens the pics, Safari doesn't and I don't know about the other browsers. I'll check what's going on, meanwhile here is a link to my turning site, the last bowls at the bottom

and thanx everybody for the kind words

Wow! Beautiful work! Have to try that piercing on one of my walnut winged bowls to see what it looks like.

In IE you get the red X's but just a copy and paste of the properties brings the pics up.
