One of the most agonizing, long, fiddly jobs I have undertaken including remodeling the bathrooms.!!!

At any rate, here the little devils sit on their felt bases at last.
Cocobolo and Boxwood with lead weighted inserts.
The finish is Lee Vally turners polish with Liberon wax.

The irony here is I don't even play chess!

Nice, I don't think I have that much patience. Now on to the board.

If I remember right you are a Crown & Bridge man. Why not do a little gold work on the Royal Couple in the next set. Looks real nice.

Very nicely done!

What species are you going to make the squares in the board from?

Hi Zack:

I had so much trouble with the Knights that look like Huskies now, that I was going to send them over to you for bands!

Man is that an eye opener! Unyeilding substrate and critical details.

I have a lot more respect for all you craftsmen now.

Hmmm? Maybe a gold bridle would hide some of my sins.

Hi Jim:
I actually finished the board before I started the pieces.
I used maple over walnut with lid and attached case to hide the pieces.
I will try to pry it out of the living room and shoot a pic.
