I am in the market for a moisture meter, preferably probeless, any sugestions?

If it isn't rough, freshly cut stock you are checking, a pinless is nice. The one I depend on is the Wagner MMC 220. You set it for the specific gravity of the wood (I use a couple good wood books for the info, but it is available on-line) and test the wood.

Don't rule out the probe type meters they are great. I have a Delmhorst BD2100 that I bought used on Ebay for a fraction of the original price. I looked this morning and there are 3 listed. Just use Delmhorst as a search and you will pull them up. They sell new for around $250 - $260 and I got mine for about $150.

The BD2100 also has the ability to check moisture on gypsum and concrete. Don't know if that would be of any use to you but its a nice feature to have.

I did a lot of research before buying mine. Delmhorst has one of the most respected names in moisture detection.
