Shelf Life of Lacquer ?

I have a some (1 gallon) some satin nitrocellulose cabinet lacquer I purchased some time ago to and have never opened it. I am working on a couple of new projects that I will be spraying lacquer (HVLP), and wanted to know if goes bad over time? :confused:

I've been using Magnalac pre-cat lacquer. Its labelled shelf life is about a year. For the $25/gallon to buy fresh stock, I wouldn't risk a project with old stock unless I sprayed a sample piece first and could verify the stuff was still good.
