For those that use Renaissance Wax for pens, what do you put beneath the wax? polish, oil, CA, nothing? Do you apply the wax with the piece spinning on the lathe or off the lathe by hand?

Thanks.

Patrick,
Renaissance Wax is just a very good way, not a finish.
I put whatever finish normally used, clean the pen up nice, the was it if desired.
It mainly puts a very pretty long lasting shine on the pen and helps protect it agains fingerprints, smudges to the finish, etc.
That said, believe I use it mostly on acrlic/polester resin pens. The wax is not the end all, but happened to have some so why not.

I skipped Ren wax and went to conservators wax from Lee Valley. It's the same wax and a lot less expensive..
