I've seen at least one spoon posted here before, but I have a question about methods that I haven't seen answered. What does a spoon turner use to carve out the "bowl"? I'm thinking of making some but I have not really done much carving. TIA.

Patrick,
I've made a few for the LOML. I used my Dremel with a small sanding drum on it. Worked well for me, but I'm sure there's a lot better way of doing it than the way I did it. :)

Totally turned including the bowl. It was made out of4 x 4 PSF (Pine, Spruce or Fur) from Home Depot.
