Do I need to convert eps to cdr

Hi, I need some help. I have an eps file from illustrator and I'm trying engrave something in Corel but come of the lines didn't come.
Any idea why? Do I have to convert the eps file to cdr?

I find that exporting to .ai works better, but one problem with illustrator files that people give me sometimes is that if the points are not connected lines will get lost when importing.
