Bit brace restoration

I'm trying to take apart my Dad's old bit brace to give it a complete cleaning and re-lubing. The brace is a Red Diamond but the design seems almost identical to some old Stanleys that I've seen. Everything's going well so far except that I can't figure out how to get the ratcheting mechanism off. I've rebuilt a lot of tools and machines, but this one really has me stumped! Can anyone out there help?
