I picked up a glued up block on Ebay, it was glued up for turning a bowl but I do not have a lathe as yet so.......
I took the lathe mount off, and turned it into a cutting board, a cheese board to more exact. It is purpleheart and maple and about 8 in. by 9 1/2.
I mainly wanted the practice in the cutting and glue up of a cutting board. I plan on making the one from the Wood Whisper and I don't want to screw that one up. purpleheart cost to much, so this was just practice.
I just had to cut it and turn the grain up for an end grain board.
It did give me good practice with the planer, the TS and glue ups. It also gave me A LOT practice sanding end gain..... :D
And yes I singed it and going to give it to one of my daughters, well the one that will take it off my hands.
